Default How to Properly Mount a Shotgun

For those of you with FB access, Dan Carlisle gave a quick bit of information about how to properly mount a shotgun. This goes back to what I have always told people "you need to see some rib". Shotguns are not like rifles. You don't look flat down the rib. The pad goes well below the top of the shoulder and you should see some rib. The head goes forward on the comb.

Good to know, I'll have to throw mine up later and pay attention to that.

I spoke with Gebben's dad, Tim Miles about a month ago and he said Gebben was 100% focused on his studies right now.

And if you look at most high rib shotgun's, they tend to be high in the rear and slant downward towards the muzzle. Except for Blaser, where they are fairly level from front to rear. I am told it's all about convergence. Most high ribs allow you to adjust POA as desired. Most of the top shots prefer their guns to shoot high with an unobstructed view.

I prefer a ramped rib. I tired a high rib and just felt too disconnected from the gun. I'm a little more locked in but still see a lot of rib.
