    Default OOS fishing Venice LA

I have to be in New Orleans mid November. Work has me tied up Mon - Wed. I’m going to take Thursday and Friday off and go to Venice. I’ve never been...so if you had 3-4 days in Venice mid November, what are you doing? Offshore for tuna? Inshore trout, reds, cobia? Where to stay? I won’t have a boat so will need a guide(s).

Mid November is an incredible time for fishing but I wouldn't wait too much longer to line up a guide. You can stay a lot closer to N.O. and go to Reggio or Delacroix and destroy the speckled trout and reds.
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

Tuna will be on the shrimp boats then. Do that if possible.

Mexican Gulf Offshore-shrimp boats are incredible
Reel Shot inshore-Jon Carter and bros lay waste to big trouts that time of year
Stay at the boat houses by the marina if you want to be picked up right from your deck and cook yourself
Lots going on that time of year. You could also get on a cast and blast for ducks
Inshore-go for trout first and then get your limit of reds. You could catch a limit of reds down there in about 10 minutes
Float plane trip to Chandaleurs is also bad ass by Bourgeois Capt Toe. His trips are all inclusive.

Vrbo a house boat at the Marina. Offshore with Peace Marvel, MGFC, or VooDoo. Tuna, Cobia, Wahoo, Swords.

Me and 2 others did a "do it yourself" trip for inshore reds last fall about the same time as you. We rented a housebout, and hauled our own boat. You have to try to not catch fish.

The inshore fishing is just unreal down there. Depending on your budget, you should at least do a couple inshore days. Offshore is going to cost big bucks.

Bobby Warren has been great to us on inshore. He's lived there his whole life and knows the Venice area as good as anyone around.

We Fisher with Paradise Outfitters. Capt. Hunter owns the business. They run a couple aluminum cats and a 36 yellowfin. Those cats are literally tanks. Bullet proof.

I have went the last two years in November. Typically the river is low and you don’t have to travel far to have a great day inshore. We took one day offshore this past November fishing around the rigs and caught a couple nice tuna. Mexican gulf is top notch if you want to offshore fish. We take our own boats so I don’t know much about inshore guides.
