Default Where to buy a prop?

I know 2 things about props. First, they make a boat move. Second, if you hit a submerged stump at wide open throttle, you can break a blade off of your prop rendering it useless. I gained the second half of my prop knowledge this past Saturday. I've found a few online, but I was wondering if anybody knew a place in the upstate where a fellow could exchange money for a product in person. It's a 1990 Johnson 30 horse if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Check Holden's marine in Spartanburg. They did have props of all sizes at one time.

I've actually got one in a cart at propmd.com, but I figured I'd check and see if anybody here had anything to offer. If none of these leads pan out I'll pull the trigger online.

I called Darren this morning, he's got my prop on the way. He saved me $40, and says it should be here Friday. The online place I was going to deal with said mid to late June. Thanks for the heads up.

The third thing you should know - have a spare, even a cheap one, in your boat at all times along with the few tools and the know how to change it on the water...

If #1 and #2 is all you know about props, the #3 thing you should know is dont buy a new prop online from a retailer. Get on ebay, buy one used, that's not too beat up, and save yourself 80% $$$$$$

I just want to commend you on your bravery. It takes a certain chutzpah to admit to something like this around these people.

and you know as much about props as I do, but I had already learned #3.

    Congrats.

I'm a glutton for punishment. I had thought about going ahead and getting a spare prop to keep in the boat, but seeing as how I have never bought a part for ANYTHING that fit the first time, I figured I'd go ahead and knock out 4 or 5 send backs, and upon eventually acquiring the right one I'd go ahead and order a few more accordingly.
