    Default Ambrosia Beetles

These bastards killed my Dunstan Chestnut trees. A few years ago I planted 15 - 4 year old trees. Against my better judgement, I bought into the hype and made an investment in these non-native trees. I was looking forward to them finally producing a decent amount of nuts this year for the deer. These damn beetles killed all of them in just a few days. If you ever see anything like this on your trees they are screwed.

That sucks. I planted some chestnuts last year. They are growing good so far.

I went with the Chinese variety as well due to blight. Not really familiar with the ambrosia beetle, but they can attack any small tree, can't they?

This is some bullshit. If the universe is against chestnuts for some reason, count me out on "re-establishing" those mofos. I already have 2000 acres of dead hemlocks to deal with on top of 90 year old sprouting blight killed chestnuts. Thanks Obama...
