    Default Cobia

My friend Lee caught this Cobia in the surf last night on Hatteras Island
Lee was born and lives there. Catch of a lifetime

They are right up there with grouper and dolphin when it comes to blackening a filet also

I was thinking over 80. That is a slob. Better to pull that thing up on the beach than into a boat.

Fish of a lifetime for sure. Any idea how close to the state record it is?

Another was caught a few nights ago 40lbs very near the same spot. When I lived there I caught one 38lbs in May in the surf

I was curious. NC State Record is 116 pounds. Also the world record.

I'm a fan of Snapper over grouper, I do like dolphin occasionally. Cobia is tastey, you definitely don't want to overcook it.
