    Default Grain drill widths

Help me out, I have two grain drills. One John Deere that the seed box measures 8.5’, the overall width at the outside of the tires is 10.5’. Then I have an older Van Brunt that the seed box measures 7.5’ and the overall width on the outside of the tires is 10’. Are they both considered 8’ drills or what?

I would measure your planting width, outside disc blade to outside disc blade. I would think that would give you your answer.
