My dad said he was going to go to base camp. He didn't, but I never understood the draw. From books I've read, it's pretty disgusting and not close to pristine. I imagine the surrounding views are magnificent if you can get good weather to see. However, sounds like base camp is just gnarly with human crap and trash everywhere.

I noticed that the family of one of the lost climbers has started a go fund me page. Home boy knew what he was getting into when he tried to tackle the mountain.

    6.5% death rate.

I never realized how many people actually do this. Wait in line for two hours to walk across the summit.

If you want the ultimate, you’ve got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It’s not tragic to die doing what you love.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

If 6.5% die pursuing "THE ULTIMATE", then maybe the risk is not worth the reward.

I am no expert, but I think that's atypical (referring to the two hour wait to summit).

Place punctuation as needed within this phrase to express the desired meaning...

    "Don't die stupid."

    or

    "Don't die, stupid."

Y’all do realize that Everest falls at the bottom of the top 10, when talking about deadliest summits to climb. The sister mountain to Mount Everest is K2 and it’s much deadlier than Mount Everest.

Not to mention the last I heard it cost on average $45,000 to climb.

The punctuation was meant to be incorrect,,, it was intended to make you to pause and reconsider "the ultimate" before embarking on a thrill that leaves your loved ones crying over an empty casket.

Ain't no way. They just jump off the other side when they get to the end?!?
I don't see any 2-way traffic. Gotta be a photoshop.

As long as they're up there, they won't be in my way at the boat ramp this weekend.

Every mountain has more than one face. There are multiple paths to the top of Mount Everest.

And there's a reason they chose the one they did to get there.

I went to the tourist base camp when I was in Tibet and was offered "Chinese take-out" by a woman there. I had snacks with me so declined. The guide then explained that Chinese take-out is what the local hookers call sex.
