    Default Implements

Hypothetical situation, but thought provoking questions regardless,

You have a small farm 80-150 acres, you have some pine plantations, a 12-15 acre ag field, and some hardwoods with small plots throughout.

    What implements would YOU have?

    Dove field, food plots, etc.

Mower, quality spray tank, tiller, and a plow.

We have a 75hp tractor, quality spray tank, 5’ tiller, 6’ offset harrow, heady duty bush hog. I would take the tiller over the harrow any day of the week.

Bought a heavy duty bush Hogg two years ago. I was missing out for sure.

    65 gallon Polaris sprayer
    Pull 8’ disc
    3 pt disc
    3pt hog
7 ft pull type hog. And the 10
    cultipactor
2 row planter. 4 row soon
I made a drag to pull behind my disc
Chisel plow doesn’t get much use for me
I plant from the four wheeler. Takes longer but makes it easier planting a field with multiple crops.

That's about all I've got right now, I only plant a few foodplots. I still have a farmer leasing out about 50 acres.

    Why planter and drill
Is it you need both for different type seeds

Planter for corn and sunflowers, drill for small seed blends, wheat, Sunn hemp, rye, oats, brassicas etc.

One implement I bought recently that I love is a Perfecta field cultivator. I was using a spiked drag harrow but this thing does a much, much better job quicker. It's great for smoothing out a field after discing or covering broadcast seeds.

I use my loader and grapple more than anything else, mostly for cleaning up brush, moving logs, loading equipment onto trailers, ripping up privet bushes, etc. Switch out to the bucket for filling potholes, moving dirt and grading. I've got pallet forks that I've only used a couple times.
