Mine won't make the first frost if it comes up this time. I plan turning it over in early September along with the peanuts and plant oats and durana. My goal is to have something high in protein for the deer to eat until the end of august. There is already an acre or so of imperial clover established and protein in the feeder.

Have you thought of or tried broadcasting cerael rye and clover then bushhogging the food plot?

Last fall I broadcasted crimson clover, turnips, and oats in standing soybeans a day before a good rain and had decent results
