Default Finding out polarity on battery cables

I just got the motor mounted up today thanks to some help on here. All went well! But now I went to hook up the wiring and both terminal cables are black!! I list the guys number who I bought it from and can’t find the emails between us.
    What do I do here?!!

Open the top of motor and follow both cables to get your answer.

I did.. One went too far back i didn’t have time to play with it but either way.. what am I looking for at the end? I pulled up diagrams online and it looks like they both go the same place, so it will make it hard to figure it out.
I can snap a picture later today if that would help?

The ground (-) will most likely go to a bolt on the block. The positive (+) most likely will go to the
starter solenoid or such. Eeezy Peezy

    Where are you located?

The ground will go to the block. The other will be the positive

Should have a red boot over the positive terminal on the motor, which will connect to your starter solenoid. Maybe that would help narrow it down?

Take it loose and measure resistance between ends. Should be almost nothing

Ok I found the solenoid and there was a small red piece of tape wrapped on it. Looks like it had just rubbed off so it was hard to see but I did find it.
Thank you all for the help.
