Default How to dull gloss paint.

Now that I have taken care of my fiberglass issue I am moving on to paint. I painted the transom as my test area and it came out great. After prep and sanding it came out smooth and just what I wanted, just a little lighter.bur anyway.. the paint is a Gloss paint. If I wet sand it down with something like 200/250grit.. will that help take some shine away or is there anything else I can do to dull it a little.
No matter what I want it to still be a smooth finish. So if wet sanding will make the paint rough feeling then I won’t do it.

I took automotive sand paper 3000 grit with water to a turkey gun I won that was wood. I wanted to dull the gloss finish and it worked. Don’t know if that helps.

Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.

You need a finer sand paper than what you stated.
Wet sand it with 600 or higher

120 grit will work the best on a 1/3 sheet sander. Just go slow and steady with moderate pressure.

I went with Rustoleum Topside. I chose the Sand Beige. It is lighter than the original color but I like it a lot.

I will try some of these recommendations on the transom. That way it will be easier to fix if something goes wrong! thanks
