Default What do you consider "hunting"?

I've long pondered on the subject of what is truly considered "hunting" vs. "killing". With technology like it is in 2019, what do you consider to be "hunting" in this day and age? Just curious to see the opinions of the brain trust.

I consider hunting to be managing the habitat and using the best practice to harvest a mature and healthy deer.

Yea cameras and feeders help, but they are only pieces to the puzzle that has to be put together.

Broad question. But the most direct way I could define it would be, the pursuit of wild game with the intended purpose to bring it to possession/bag.

The nuances of how and when that occurs can be debated till the cows come home and is up to the individual to decide.

Enjoying time with my boys or just taking in God's creation. Yeah, I like to bring home game/fish but the last few years, I just enjoy watching and solitude or being with good friends.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Going into the woods with the attempt to let the air out of whatever game I'm after.

Most of us have been deer farming for a long time. I have no issue admitting it.

Now this idea Jab has would definitely encourage me to duck hunt more.

My daughter and her friend road around in her accord shooting dove out the sunroof last year, come to think about it!

I think you should ask this question in the turkey forum.

Well obviously it wasn't a limo, but I told the girls to go for it. They said they were hot. I said you can ride around, but not over here, go in the other field. Dang if all the birds didn't start like a fire hose over them. It was rather funny!

We are different.....but there is a lot of common ground!
