If they open up that creek it would be more of a madhouse up there than it already is.

We really have to stop electing morons.

I get that we have to find things for stupid people to do, but why has the Legislature become the playground of the dumb?

That creek is illegally posted and always has been.

Public waterway, privatized as a buffer for private lands.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I agree. I’m just saying it’ll be a madhouse in there if word gets out and it becomes unposted

It will be like all other decent public hunting areas.

Good hunting for a few for a while.
Then word gets out, the masses come and hunting quality plummets.
It will get so bad that killing a duck in the area will become impossible and folks will quit going there.

Then in their absence, birds will slowly begin to use the area again.
Some good hunters will return and begin killing a few birds quietly.
But inevitably the masses will get wind and hunting will resume and the cycle will continue.

Public duck hunting has always been this way.

I've been out there and been on 2 of the islands it's a great place. No need to touch it now. I can tell u the mosquitos will hammer u out there. It could be some improvements of management out there but dnr does great work to keep it up with the few that work out there .

I have been on many tours of the place years ago and they do a great job the way it is.

I’m perfectly fine with Yawkey proper remaining hunt free. Not my business to say otherwise.

I am very against bordering public creeks being used as a buffer.

Probably close to 30 years ago, we ventured to a new spot, in the dark going blind, which happened to be mosquito creek. We knew why we had such a good morning after coming out that and seeing the NO HUNTING signs. We never went back and tried our luck again.

It'll end up back in control of Yankees which is probably what the state wants. Im sure some $$ people have worked all this out behind the scenes.

I have been watched from the tower hunting in Mosquito creek always with the premise that it was posted illegally. it was navigable water and a heck of a place to shoot lack ducks.
I shot ducks outside Cane Island , can you just arbitrarily post water outside of a duck mecca because you want to?
Tommy saw me many mornings on the beach under the high water mark at Murphy and Cedar .
Can you not sit on the river at several places because they are next impoundments?

I you couldnt, very few ducks would be killed from Plantersville to Santee Bay.

It’s not illegal. It’s a sanctuary, just like Cape Romain.
