    Default Obesity and the military

I stumbled across this yesterday. It is 7 years old so things have no doubt only gotten worse.

I would love to see more statistics on what it costs DOD to fix stress fractures and to process our kids that get fat.

I didn't get to watch the video (I can read better than watch noise)

You said "get fat" Is that after they enlist they get fat, or are they fat and then get hurt.
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

Most recruits have to lose weight before they are processed in through MEPS. I think the last percentage I read was like 65% of applicants couldnt meet standards.

Both the Army and the Marines have stopped throwing grenades in boot camp because they don’t have the time necessary to teach kids how to throw.

I'm continually amazed at how little people care about their health these days. It's as if there is some type of glory and elevation in status to be perpetually obese, sick and on medication. And with the adults not caring about themselves and unwilling to set a good dietary example for their kids we wind up with fat sugar and bread fueled kids who are unfit for service.

We did grenade training in MCT, but not boot camp. That was 12 years ago.

The army gets to do all the cool shit.

I got in trouble the first time I threw. Take grenade, sweep the safety, pull the pin, hum-ding that sucker out there in a perfect spiral... do it again dumbass- this ain't a football.
