    Default Winch recommendations for UTV

Sold my Polaris ATV and bought a new Ranger 900 XP. Going to install a winch but not real sure what to go with

My atv had a Polaris when it was new but it crapped out, went with Warn after that however seldom ever used it

Looking at 4-4500lb winch for this one and probably going with the synthetic winch rope

See some decent looking winches for $250-300 (warn, SuperWinch, Viper )

    Pros/Cons with any of them

Get the extended hitch from harbor freight. You can swap from front to rear and holes line up for their winches.

I bought a Warn for my Gator, lasted for one season. I bought a Superwinch from Tractor Supply, it's on season 3 and the parts switch out with the Warn, think it was like $129 where the Warn was like $350.00. Buy cheap and replace when they go bad.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Had a harbor freight winch on the fourwheeler I sold and one currently on the mule and hunting truck. They've all seen a good bit of use and no complaints

I have a KFI Winch on my Polaris Ranger. I've always had Warn winches on everything. Did a lot of reading on SXS/ATV forums and there was a big following for KFI. Figured I would try one out. It's been great.

Mine came with a dash mount rocker switch and the corded remote.

I’ve got a superwinch on my mule and it works great. Although I barely have to use it because, well it’s a mule

Ditto. I'm running synthetic line and it has worked better than I thought it would.

Synthetic is the way to go. I do not ever want to go back to a steel cable.

Thanks, really like the looks/thoughts on synthetic rope. Got my hands stuck too many times over the years with wire cable

Warn has always been good to me. I prefer steel cable.

I've got the Harbor Freight 5000lb on my Teryx as well as a few other friends on theirs. All have worked flawlessly and for under $200.
