This bird has left me scratching my head the last couple mornings. Monday he didn’t gobble at all on the roost or after flydown, he just found a hen and followed her away from me. Yesterday he gobbled nonstop on the roost but didn’t fly down for an hour after sunrise, when he hit the ground he went quiet. This morning he was roosted deeper in the swamp and only gobbled 3 times but I was close enough to see his roost tree. He stayed in the tree until 7:15 but when he finally hit the ground he came in on a string.

    Nice! Great pics.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-
