The thing I remember the most is a feeling like a 5gallon bucket of ice water was poured down my back. Normally if I see a snake, even a rattlesnake or moccasin, I'll pick it up. I've never been afraid of snakes but I didn't like not being in control.

I had a water moccasin crawl across my leg a few years ago. That got my blood pumping pretty good.

I stepped on a + 6ft Timber Back in Croatan National Forest outside of New Bern, NC
Thought I was going to have a heart attack
He got stretched out on the tailgate and hung off both ends

Few years back we were moving feeders and as soon as we picked one up this guy came out of nowhere and went right between my feet which was no wider than my shoulders. I don’t think Ive ever moved so fast in my life.

Unnerving to say the least. Im fine if i see them first before they get into striking distance. I had a cat save me one day from a copper head but thats a totally different story all together.

All y’all killing snakes...I’ll pay for a couple of 28-30” or bigger copperhead skins. I’m going to try to find and kill a couple of diamondbacks this summer for bow backing, but a copperhead backing would be the shid! If you kill one and don’t mind skinning it and shipping it for some $, pm me and we can work something out. Thanks.
