    Default Inshore

Fished Murrells Inlet yesterday from day brake to about 1 o’clock was gonna see what fishing was like before entering the tournament. I caught 2 fish both might’ve went 10 inches. Lady on golf cart said there were 10 boats out there gigging the night before.

Sounds like you’re not a flounder specialist.

In Murrells Inlet? How many keepers? Just out of curiosity.

I won’t be going back there for a while. Two trailers stayed backed in the water for 25 mins and the middle ramp stayed blocked while a guy was trying to get his Johnson he pulled from the depths of the Atlantic to start. All this occurred at 6:40 and the parking lot was half full.

MI is one of the easiest places to catch a flounder from myrtle to Charleston. 98% of those boats at the landing won’t boat a keeper.

I just like to sit out in the middle and catch sharks and stingrays.

I was in that 98 percent yesterday.

I typically fish lynchfield, pawleys island, and north Inlet (for reds mostly) in South Carolina and we catch a few flounder here and there. My cousin wanted to fish that tournament next Saturday so we went and checked it out at MI. Maybe we don’t know the area or flat out don’t know what we’re doing? I feel like we covered a pretty good bit of water. We were working Carolina rigs with light of weight as possible to tend bottom about a foot to foot and a half of leader with number 2 owner hooks with some decent sized mud minnows, and also thew some artificial with some pro cure. I caught those two as soon as we got to the first spot which was a hole in the bend of a creek. My cousin caught one that was about 14 in the same spot. After that we started casting at docks and other holes with a few decent bites but no success

No, north of there in Ocean Isle. Caught all of them insight of the house. I’ve got a video of him trying to net one off the kayak that’s quite hilarious.

A fish bites 2 times a day, right before I get to the water, and as soon as my boat gets back on the trailer.

I bet that would be a sight to see! I sheepshead fished with my grandpa up there at those jetties a long time ago.
