Default Private skeet range build? Throwers/procing

    Title should say “pricing”
Has anyone on here built their own? If so, what throwers did you go with? I am considering this, but trying to build a budget prior to diving in.
Also, interested in hearing about lighting setups if anyone went that route as well. Thanks!

Rick Hemmingway at backwoods quail is a promatic dealer. I would start there.

Mec traps. Most parts are interchangeable with Promatic but they are less expensive and better built.

I’ll second Atlas. Have four of them. Customer service has been outstanding. Machines have worked flawlessly. The AT300 is a great machine.

I want to do this same thing on my land, with a voice activated thrower- breaking 100 straight is one of life's great feelings and makes you deadly as hell on bird hunts

Gonna second Promatic through Rick Hemingway. We built houses in January of 2017. With promatic machines and still no problems. Promatic are the easiest to work on and repair. Should somethimg break. Rick also sells used machines that he will sell with a warranty

I’m not flop but I had 65 Promatics for 2 years with very minimal problems

Promatics are great machines and are the standard by which most others are measured. Mecs are great too and have some features that Promatic should incorporate. Mecs are damn near identical to Promatics in most respects and are priced better. Some features, like their carts for instance, are better than Promatic. Bigger wheels that don't go flat. It might not seem like much until you are the one setting up a course and trying to drag a tiny wheeled cart with a flat up a ditch bank. As for the actual traps, we are getting comparable results from each brand. Parts are interchangable.

I don't have stake in arguing between the traps. It's a Ford vs Chevy thing. If flop has a different opinion he can post it as his own and not revise mine.

It’s always fun pulling a t cart on a slope and it turning over and bending the arm....always push the arm in when moving

I'm just picturing island guy wheeling these things from the high house to the low house during the round.

Promatics have had solid tires for a number of years now.
They are reliable and give years of service with minimal care.

Would be super efficient. Especially on doubles.

Anyone have input on lighting by chance?

I have no idea how much lighting runs. Never bought anything more than flood lights so was hoping for a ballpark idea.

Edit: lighting not a “must have” but would be nice for warmer months

Don't they have models that run on 12volts? Solar panel to keep charged?
