Nice find... but a bit earlier than I expected. I rarely see them around here before late May or early June.

Actually This is when you should see the most fawns born.
I admit maybe 5-7 days early but middle to late April is 6 months from October 15

October 15 in the state of SC is when doe are ready to breed!

You see more chasing the following month because their are less receptive doe because they have been bread so you see “chasing”

Now as screwed up is our cycles are yes you are gonna have doe born all through the summer.
Hell we had one that was born mid August last year that meant the doe was bred end of Feb/March

But on a whole October 15 give or take 72 hours it is on!

I love reading face book when they start in on is the rut going on in your area. No it’s 90 too hot
They will be next week when the moon is full
I haven’t worn my lucky shirt yet

All the reasons are too funny when you understand what and how breeding actually works in odocoileus virginianus.
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

I had 13 in the yard a few weeks ago. Never have we seen that many back there.

    Very neat pic!
