    Default Which 20 gauge auto?

My pops is turning 75 this year and I want to buy him a 20ga auto for his birthday. Been looking at the Beretta A400, but should I look at others? I have zero experience with any of the new shotguns out there.

    Requirements:
    Soft recoil
    Wood stock
    Will handle all loads

    Thanks,
    Mike

There are a couple of nice 20 ga autos, but the a400 is definitely the nicest and sweetest shooting

Those a400’s are really hard to beat.

28 gauge in an A400 is another I would look at.

A400 or 391 if you can find one on the used market.

The A400 is sweet. I haven't shot the 20ga but a buddy has a 28ga it's very fun to shoot.

We bought my wife a Montefeltro Silver and it's really nice too.

He's 75. Make sure you know the difference between gas and inertia driven shotguns and brands.

No doubt, I live mine but I believe the felt recoil is better with the Beretta. Both great guns though.

Sorry, I should of included that. Gas operated only. He's always been a one shotgun for everything person, so hopefully he'll shoot birds with this one till he's 105

For sure. I always buy Beretta's for the girls for this reason, when I wouldn't use one personally...

M1 20 is nice but they do kick a little with 3" loads because of their light weight. Gas guns feel like a 410. If you are going for a one gun deal id splurge and get the beretta a400 that is if it fits him.

An older Rem 1100 in good shape would be a nice option IMO.

Buy him the Beretta. I think a 1100 20g is one of the best youth guns out there, but I wouldn't want to trust one for my main gun.

No, but there is not enough money on earth to make me sell mine...
