    Default New sporting clays course

My club shot the new course at Bluefield Plantation today. It's on the farm of Parker and Will Tuten in Jacksonboro. It's a great course! Rick Hemmingway set the targets and he tightened them up when he heard our club was coming. They were definitely "big boy targets". A few were just plain rude. None were unfair but none were fluffy. Very nice course with 14 stations with all new Promatic machines. They also have a new five stand range.

The place is convenient to Charleston just off of 17 South near the intersection of 17 and 64 towards Walterboro (near the old Edisto Motel Restaurant). GPS location is 1 Tuten Rd., Round O, SC.

My GPS (Garmin and Waze) couldn't find it until I used Round O for the city. Maybe Round O has a post office.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

I'm not defending or arguing that it's in Round O. It's definitely in Jacksonboro. I'm just trying to give useful directions.

I didn't take any picts but the place is definitely picture worthy. The course runs through some pretty woods and they have it very well maintained. We had supper under a nice pole shed and Will is in the process of building a big club house.

Yes, 4th Thursday. We had several members place well in the State shoot in Camden last weekend so Hemmingway must have thought we all needed a humbling. I expect they will soften them some for the general public.

Soft is for sissies. Put em 30+ yards with speed and complexity. That's why I spend most of my practice days burning up the field course at Rocky Creek.

    Soft targets piss me off.
