Spring is further along in the lowcountry. The birds down south should be ready to hunt. The piedmont and north is a week or 2 behind. All the turkey harvests I've seen on facepage have been from the lowcountry.

Birds gobbled at every call I made this am. One didn’t live to see March 21st.

The last time I hunted turkeys and got out before daybreak, frost formed on my boots while waiting on one.. It was an Easter morning.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

Nope, I really can't remember what kind though.. I feel like it's been at least a decade since I've been out there for them that early.

I remember that Easter. I doubled that morning. 28 degrees.

Killed one in Alabama while I was in college on opening day, March 15th, while it was snowing. He did turkey things and got rewarded for it.

My father and I were hunting together that morning. I was half dressed for it, and honestly back then I never really got cold.. I remember shaking a little right there as the sun was rising though, and watching leaves and my boots starting to turn white. I was all hemmed up next to a post covered up with briars, damned turkey stayed right on a brush line next to me.. I couldn't get a shot on him, and honestly it was the last wild ass gobbling I've heard down there.

Didn't kill one but had a good time with my youngest son.
We called in a huge coyote, he lived due to his staying just slightly out of range.
First time ever seeing one during the daylight while hunting. Very cool!

Nothing going on at spot one this morning. Moved to spot two for a late morning hunt. 30 minutes later he was dead at 30 yards. Strutted and gobbled all the way to the gun.

I guess I need enlightening but why would we allow the selling of American soil to non citizen people? Seems to me like a national security issue.

Today was the 1st opener I've ever missed. They better beware in the AM because I have a chip on my shoulder.

I sure hope the temperature is high enough so they will gobble in my neck of the woods.
