    Hmmmm.
John Gotti, who took over the Gambino family after Castellano’s shooting, died in prison in 2002. Cefalu reportedly ousted Gotti’s kin to head the Gambino family in 2011.

    There is motive?

ALso have always been very intrigued by the MOB . Very neat they way they operate and they are very well organized. Agree with other post in that when younger guidos started selling drugs and they turned rats anytime they were caught and has really been a blow to them

Keep in mind Vegas was BUILT by the Mob, have an older client that lived in Vegas for many years. She actually told me that when the Mob ran Vegas it was a much better place and no crime. Told me that is why nobody every tried to rob a Casino.

I was more into the inner workings. Obviously there are several "families"

Do they all hate each other? Do they work together?

Are they still the "big" players or did Giuliani so weekend them there is no difference in them and the mexicans now?

This sort of stuff intrigues me.

    Never really studied them.
You need to catch the series "Mafias Greatest Hits" its on the America Heros Channel. I was swiping one day and came across and episode... pretty cool and they put a lot of connections together. Like the JFK assignation and how the used the Labor unions insurance contracts to fund Vegas.

I'm thinking Bernie's "shower door accident" was a mob message...call it a policy adjustment...

    Actually he wasn't run over!

And it wasn't a mob hit!

It was a young man upset he couldn't date a Gambino girl!

Damn, hope that girl was worth it. He will be dead within hours of being in prison if he makes it that long

A high-ranking NYPD official reportedly said. "He’s going to have some issues in jail."

My guess is they find him in jail cell hung with his own bedsheets

There were a lot of connected guys where I grew up. A buddy of mine's dad's business went belly up because of the very public arrests of some of his nephews.
Our little town was the only stop on the cocaine smuggling route from Florida to Pittsburgh and NYC in the 70's and early 80's. That town was mentioned during Johnny Carson's monologue one night for having the highest unsolved murder rate per capita in America.

One of my classmate's dad died in a coke smuggling run plane crash. Several of the girls I went to school with had no idea what their dads did for a living. I'd ask my father what so and so's dad did for a living and he'd answer under his breath, "Whatever he can." There was a family in the neighborhood whom my dad and grandfather always politely declined tomato plants from. Once I was a teen they explained how you never want some people to do favors for you.

My buddy's great grandmother told us a story about "the black hand" when she was a young girl in town. The italian criminals preyed on their own people.
