    Default Favorite Fly Lines?

What are your favorite fly lines in 4, 5, and 6 wt?

Mine depend on the rod (in priority), and all lines are loaded on separate spools spread over four reels, although that may change as I zero in more on which lines get used the most in the future.

    4 wt - Fast action rod = SA Mastery GPX WF4F (actually 4.5 weight) & Airflo Super-Dri Xceed WF4F
    4 wt - Medium Fast rod = Rio Gold WF4F, Tenny/Lefty Kreh WF4F, SA Mastery Nymph WF4F
5 wt - Medium Fast rod = Cabelas Prestige Premier WF5F (actually 5.5), SA Supra WF5F, SA Mastery DT5F
6 wt - Medium Fast rod = SA Sharkwave GPX WF6F (actually 6.5), Cortland 444 Sink WF4F/S, Orvis Wonderline Gen III DT6F

Only time will tell how much testing I get to give these choices, but that's my present lineup.

    What say ye?

Dunno about favorites but that SA sharkskin line is some good stuff on big water, shoots like a dream. Used a bunch (floating lines mainly), SA is probably tops IMO. If you clean them after every trip they will last you for years of use.

That’s why I picked that Sharkwave for the 6 wt main line. The GPX and Rio Gold lines seem to be getting consistently good feedback and reviews.

I just need to find the time to get caught up on the last few years worth of fishing.

Well about now is a great time to start. Mid-month on out and the good fishing is around 10-2 when the sun is high. Big quill gordons will be around if you look for water temps of 48+ and trout should be active.

Orvis owns SA, and SA makes their lines, but for some reason the SA lines seem to get better reviews on quite a few sites than Orvis lines do. Not sure why as I'm certainly not an expert on them.
