    Default Trailer: THE HIGHWAYMEN

The Elites don't fear the tall nails, government possesses both the will and the means to crush those folks. What the Elites do fear (or should fear) are the quiet men and women, with low profiles, hard hearts, long memories, and detailed target folders for action as they choose.

Saw that the other day. Looking forward to it.

Anyone seen the new Redford movie? Old Man And The Gun, I think it’s called. I’m hearing mixed reviews.

I watched Old Man And The Gun on a flight a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was OK, but not great.

Looks okay; seems a touch too much over-dramatized.

Hasn’t he already done this role in the Untouchables?

Texas Rangers, are not Revenue men. May Walker show up at your door and roundhouse kick you in the face.

That was directed at me and I still laughed......that being said, some Costner movies are good, but some seem like he is playing the same character in just a different movie.

Went to the TX Ranger Hall of Fame museum in Waco a few years back. There is a pretty good section on Hamer. Credited with killing over 50 criminals.

He is the man that is referred to in the old statement, " one Riot? Send one Ranger" He is also credited with replying to some tyro asking him if he knew the hammer on his 1911 was cocked. He replied- "Yes" . The person supposedly asked him " isn't that dangerous? " Hamer replied, " Hell yes, or I wouldn't be carrying the Damned thing"

There is also some folklore about Hamer's choice of pistols - the museum had his .44 Triple lock S&W, Colt SAA .45 (highly engraved
) and his 1911 chambered in .38 Super. It will be interesting to see how accurate Hollywood is, since Hamer's rifle of choice was a modified Remington Model 8 in .35 Remington..

My favorite part was when he was talking to his wife before leaving..

And she said... "I knew who you were when I married you"

I showed that to my wife after we planted corn and turkey hunted from dark to dark...

    Watched the movie last night.

It was pretty good. Kevin’s getting old.

Costner, not Asbill. Well him too.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I am easy to please but I thought that movie was a letdown. The cars and guns and such were cool but that's about the extent of it for me.
