    Default Jon Boat tolerances

So brand new boat and the Port side is 1” taller than the starboard at the transom. Ran a tape from top to bottom to confirm what visually had been bothering me. Doesn’t seem to affect performance as the boat ran as I would expect.

Anyone else ever have any issues of aluminum boats not being exact and true??

It’s to compensate for sitting on that side to run the tiller.

I’m kidding, I have no idea, but it sounded good.

Yeah I drive from starboard so it’s a double whammy!

Put the fuel tank on the port side.

    Care to name the make?

War Eagle- not sure how you can have an extra inch of metal. I would assume these are cut from templates??

So very few boat manufacturers cut them from templates or on a plasma. It can happen, but an inch out is a big. So I would take it to the dealer and see what they say.

Just like the truck thread 1" out of level.

I bet your girlfriends titties are out of level_ I forgot real men see the titties- not the level

I don't think it's hurting anything is it? I mean, unless it just bothers you I would continue to roll on. But, then again, you paid good money for it and it's your boat so I don't think you're outside of your rights to fuss a little bit at them and see what they will do.

I’m not complaining I’m simply curious if any of y’all have seen this. It doesn’t appear to impact performance but then again I’ve only got an hour on the engine and have not run it WOT.

Im not trying to level my boat. There is an inch of fall from port to starboard thereby not making the transom level.

I’d let them know if it were mine.

Might not affect things now, but may come back to bite later. I'd go ahead and check now and see what their own tolerances are and if the boat is designed that way or is perhaps Whaler Dave's theory is correct.

I'd take it back. Sounds like quality control missed a screw up.

I was just messin with you- I would for sure take it back. The transom is the backbone of a boat and if they messed it up that bad, what else is wrong?

Bad Habit was drunk last night.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
