    Default Parris Island boat crash

Someone hit the bridge coming onto Parris Island right now around 3am. We were under a dense fog advisory. The rumor is that it was 6 kids in their late teens.

One is missing. Coast Guard is searching the main river now but the wreck was in Archerís creek. Not good.

Saw the chopper headed that way earlier, was thinking kind of a shitty day for training. Just terrible. Thoughts for those and the families.

They pulled all the boat out from the area. Including the search boats. Helo is still flying and they are hoping she floats up.

That creek dumps into the Broad and Beaufort river. Tons and tons of water to cover.

    Man that's awful

    Default Parris Island boat crash

ďAt one point on the return trip, there was a dispute among others on the boat over who should be driving, Cook said.

He said he was sitting in the floor of the boat holding Beach in his lap with both facing the back of the boat and neither wearing life jackets when the vessel struck something.

Cook said he blacked out after impact and was on the other side of the bridge when he regained consciousness. He swam to grab a piling while yelling for Beach, then swam to the other side of the bridge and continued calling for her, Cook said.

He later climbed to a bank, removed his clothes and went back into the water to keep searching. The cold and swift-moving water forced him back to shore, he said.

Cook said he suffered a dislocated shoulder and was treated at the hospital Sunday night. Another person in the boat broke his jaw and required surgery at a Charleston hospital, he said.
