    Default Cast iron experts...

    Inheriting some pieces now that gma is downsizing homes and cant handle the heavy pieces anymore. Most are packed away but had a fryer still out that i snagged. Also got an 8 in pan that was my great grandmas. looking to get some help aging them.

    Pan: "8 SK Made in USA D1"





    Fryer: "Made in USA"

    "Made In USA" mark means it was made in the 1970's or later I think.

    Top pan is a 3 notch lodge. The made in the USA on the bottom is something that, if memory is correct, didn't start until the 1960's, or later.

    Hopefully MKW will chime in. I think he is pretty knowledgeable about this stuff.

    Yall are correct. That 3 notch Lodge is a nice skillet. I don't know much about the fryer, but it's not real old. I'd be throwing some chicken legs in that thing!
    Oh, and I am certainly no expert on cast iron.

    Wednesday. It will be a special delivery. Should be some time between 0300 & 2100. But, you must be in the open, where the delivery guy can see you.
