i've never killed a turkey with TSS.

I have never patterned a shotgun.

I never said I was right (in this instance) but the birds I kill still die.

It works through fixed choke guns ok. Mostly what it was designed for I'd say. Used them last season for a tom with an old double bird gun with open chokes. I'm Not a calm enough hunter for rifle like patterns on turkeys though.

I just ordered a box of the Browning 3 1/2 #7/9s from Cabelas. Give them a try. Never tried this tss stuff. Had a gift card to burn anyway. Also ordered some for 410.

As long as I get about 150 in the 10" circle at 40yrds, I'm fine. Been working for lots of years.

Shucks, Once upon a time I can remember being silly happy to get 12 in the head and neck of a turkey silhouette at 40 yards. The moral of that story is back then you just didn't shoot much to 40 or further unless you was quick on your feet. LOL! I switched to hevishot some years back but it was a little later than the band wagon. The reason was to gain a little "insurance" on misjudged yardage, plain and simple, to gain 5-10 yards "insurance". That's extra range I guess but the intent was to get to 40 with no doubt of a broke neck shuffle happening. Can't tell you the number of toms I've let walk past 40 yards over the years but it's been a pile. Whoopty do for me but it's the truth and it has plumb give me a tic. Still better to let one get by and a chance at another day than to spray him and have to think on it.

I ain't knocking TSS but it does concern me being so available now since I've had some knuckleheads stalk me on public land, like I see movement and there he is at 30 yards or hear a twig break and he steps out from behind me at 10 yards. I just assumed the implications of some nimrod nut armed with something that can kill through foliage way on out there would worry all of you a little. I've seen nuts on TV shows "try" shots at 80 yards. Sometimes they kill the bird, sometimes they tote it off. At least the cost and availability has restricted that to some extent, at least till now.
