Subdominate birds can be tricky. Flop adds realism and it's equatable to a jerk string for ducks. Although trumpets sounding thunder pounding birds flopping and beards waving doesn't hold a candle to stalking that subdominate after the shot with a handheld strutter superimposed image decoy. He will know he is being sought after and that's the biggest adrenaline rush you could give him. They are adrenaline junkies. I bait with java monster filled metal tubs. Keeps them sounding off all day.

Last year, I switched to claymores loaded with TSS. Nothing like hitting the clackers and seeing the entire field of turkeys flopping. Also solves the subdominate bird dilemma.

I loved the Hevi-shot when they first came out but then they got involved with Remington and the shells were not worth loading in my gun then the price went up and I went back to my Winchester Double X turkey #5s
I still have some of the original Hevi-shot in the white rolled crimp hulls. I am a believer that the more shot you can get to the head, the better your chances witch is what the TSS people are pushing, because a turkeys brain ain't no bigger than a grape.

I shoot TSS because it makes my already large tallywhacker feel enormous...

    And because I’m not poor..

I kilt 5 turkeys between 8 and 47 yds and mangled 2 coyotes 35 and 39 yds with #9s out of a 20ga. Turkeys never moved again.. It looked like the coyotes had a string tied from their molars, through their butthole to an anchor, and ran out of slack.. I would have just laid down and died..

TSS is for deer hunters that can't call turkeys and use strutter decoys.

They won’t flop with Hevi-shot Mag Blends either...at least the ones I’ve killed and seen killed with it haven’t.

Yes dead is dead....you can cut a birds head clean off and he will still flop some
When in doubt, shoot him again!

Work like it's all up to me, but pray, like it's all up to him!
