If it doesn’t cost the taxpayers anything, then I’m fine with it. However, I know that they he taxpayers will get screwed on this. As was mentioned, the intent was to remove them in the first place. I’d like to hear arguments as to why efforts to develop it would be different this time around, as opposed to past attempts to develop it? They were going to put a casino there, but couldn’t make it happen. The town of Santee has dried up. The outlets are gone.

Murray has Columbia to attract people to it. Marion is in BFE. If the giant fish sign couldn’t get people there, nothing will.

If you got other reasons then the need for speed I'm all ears but just for "safer navigation" idk seems SC has plenty of places to perform recreational activities. I would much rather you spent our tax money in improving habitat or even push for better management of other lakes as CWS has already taken steps in the right direction for this to be possible in other areas.... Would be a great time to follow the lead!!!!!
I guess you have never woke up before dawn and cast a net off your lighted pier, caught shad, run up to Pack flats and caught a mess of striper.

How about a late afternoon blast over to Harry and purchased herring so you could night fish in the river bed a couple miles up from the spillway?

Maybe a catfish evening by Three Tree?

Or an late night run to Taw Caw for a drink?

Or a striper school in November?

How about running from the dam to 601 for the hell of it?

Not being able to, isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

I'm sure you do not need a tutorial to prove the channel does not go the length of the 20 mile lake.

You can do that now, just stay in the channel.

Sounds like you have done all that with the trees being in place!!!!
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. Nope. But I'm smart enough to know not to go hauling butt through unfamiliar waters. And as I stated earlier, I will run a boat from the canal, all the way to the springs, and never back off of the throttle, and never hit the channel.

What channel are you talking about? Maybe not the channel that crosses the lake between Wyboo and Taw Caw, but for Gods sake who runs the markers anyways? You can run that lake from top to bottom without ever pointing your boat in the direction of any channel marker or stump free channel marker. Now, tell me more about this timberman fetching the logs out the lake.

There is nothing left to develop. All the available water front has been developed with a few exceptions. The rest is refuge or owned by Santee cooper and will not be developed.

I am not trying to be smart but that’s not very hard to do in the day time.

I'm smart enough to have paid attention to my dad and his friends, and spent enough time on that lake to not need a tutorial from anyone, especially you, about where to run a boat on that lake.

If you aren't intelligent enough to know not to go hauling butt across stump filled waters, then you deserve what happens to you.

And to add to all of this, I have never made any derogatory comments towards you in the past. But, you are truly being an arrogant prick, and egotistical asshole.

If you clear it, they will come!

To Manning? Summerton, Santee? Holly Hill? Pineville? Davis Station? Jordan? Yeah. OK

Shoot, they burned a restaurant down twice at the golf course to get the money.

I develop and I am good but no one is that good. Sewer? Decent water? Amenities, LOL

Well let’s see... I’m gonna run my boat wide open even though I don’t know where I’m going. Hmmm pretty much explains it!

How about around 3 or 4 in the morning, say November to January?

Sounds like you have now. I didn't make one towards you . The cleared channel runs half way up the lake then turns to go across.

I’m with you but show me statistics or comparisons on fatalities between lake Marion and the rest of the lakes in this state, then tell me how many of them were from a stump... or were they just being stupid like the ones killed on lakes like Hartwell/ Keowee every year. If you tear up a lower unit or put a hole in your boat that’s your problem. You can do it on any lake in the state some of which you have a better chance. That’s the chance you take tho.
