Wasn’t he Hawaiian Elvis? Surely there’s Don Ho impersonators out there.

If there was a group of them from The Windy City they could call themselves the Don Ho Chi Men.

I spent 4 years at Scholfield Barracks in the late 90's.
North shore, Matsumoto Shave Ice.. with vanilla beans in bottom. Haleiwa. Luau's: Polynesian cultural center, windward side (best show i thought) & Paradise cove (more authentic). Great food. Check stadium during weekdays, used to be Thursday, big swap meet, flea market like, lots of souvenirs, shirts, towels and such.
Hanauma bay , great for snorkeling, Old volcano crator.
Go to the Blow hole (Windward side). Bellows is a awesome beach. Great for boggie boarding. Beach used to be open only on weekends & holidays. They did training during the week. Hiking up Diamond head is a cool lookout. Lots of stairs.

Oh yea. One thing i forgot, if your game and got time. Get on a fishing trip. Was inexpensive if a full boat.
I regret not doing at least one. So darn exp at OBX. And gotta go so far out.
Loved being at beach. Water so clear right at beach.
