Very nicely done! Looks great. Tell me more about the paint you used and the prep work you did? Primer, etc?

If you want to get a blind I would go with an Avey Quickset. I customized one to fit my HighTide. That consisted of making careful bends to the frame to follow the contour of the boat. It works great for my needs. I also customize some quick attach brackets so I did not have to drill into the boat to mount the blind. I have a friend that runs a Beavertail blind on his HighTide. Worked well for him but seemed bulky when down because it is all on one side of the boat.

For the trolling motor I would suggest using a Minn-Kota quick mount bracket so you can mount or remove the motor by pulling a pin. This makes it a lot easier if you are putting a blind on the boat.

I would also think about putting a break-away plate on the back to mount your motor to. That way you won’t have any fear of damaging your motor or transom while running in shallower water. Mine has saved me more than once in waters I knew well and routinely run.

Keep posting pictures of your progress!

I'm just trying to figure out who you might be because I know exactly where you're at. We live in the same town apparently.

And good work on the boat.

I appreciate it man. That is rustoleum topside battleship gray. As far as prep the gel wasn’t in bad shape so all I did was scuff the gel coat with scotch brite pad and soapy water then laid down a really thin 1st coat then cane back over it 2 more times with thick even coats using a harbor freight spray gun.

Looks good but you might want to move the rear passenger seat (port side) forward and mount it on a short pedestal closer to the front to balance the boat when running and give you more room in the stern.

Did you have any cracking or spiderwebbing that you had to spackle over first? You've got me thinking that maybe I should do this too. Your boat looks awesome. I just have some spiderweb cracking that I will need to spackle before I paint.

I appreciate that man. And I did have one spot, very small, but I didn’t even notice it until after I sprayed. It was on the inside of the gunnel at front deck. I’m not too worried ab it.

Here is the trolling motor quick release bracket. The smaller interior portion mounts to the boat and the larger exterior mounts to the trolling motor. You pull the pin and off it comes.

I appreciate that man. I’m definitely gonna be getting one of those for the trolling motor. Can you get some pics of the blind?

hey man, I had the avery quick set blind and it was nice but I found a good deal online for some already build hard blinds and I picked mine up from craigslist for a good price. someone else built it but it fits my 1503 perfectly, ill try to find a picture but I have seen plenty online. Just depends if you want a hard blind or want the scissor style. I know some guys don't like the hard blinds while driving.
