she's a 16 footer, no soft spots, and the bottom looks like it was just popped out of the mold. Gonna try to make her into a dual sport (duck, and fish) boat.

So far I’ve removed the mid seat and the console. Replaced the nav lights installed two rear seats, and painted non skid on the interior and rustoleum topside on the exterior and gunnels. The motor is off getting a big tiller installed on it. I need to install a seat base and pedestal on the front deck. Need to find a riptide trilling motor, and figure out some kind of duck blind as well. Anybody have any ideas on the duck blind? I also want to install a stereo and wire in the nav lights and some other auxiliary lighting, and possibly replumb and wire in the live well. Anybody ever used one of theses?

I love when someone can look at an old boat, have a vision and make that vision into real life - kudos.

That's gonna be a sweet boat when you get done.
What are you going to power with?
Great job. I've been looking to do about the same thing but I'm real hesitant to pull the trigger. Thanks for the inspiration.

I’m powering it with the 60 4 stroke that was on it when I bought it. It’s off the boat right now for paint but I’m putting a big tiller on it like this one. I got the tiller mounted and cables hooked up for shifter and throttle just waiting on adapter for wiring harness. Also if anybody has any prop suggestions I’m open to suggestions. The previous owner must have wanted a lot of whole shot because it has a 15 pitch and when you ease into the gas it will about throw you out of the boat.

Boat looks good, great trailer. Get rid of those plastic cleats, they hang on everything. Install stainless pop ups, they are $47 bucks a pair on amazon. Can't wait to see the finished product. Those HighTides are great boats!

"run and gun guide service"
Looks good. Love making old stuff new again without spending 20k on new ones

Looks great!
For wiring I would use the blue seas products with quality tinned marine wire and do your connections right. Spend the money and do it right or you will be doing it again down the road.
For stereo I would do 2 speakers and an amp with a Bluetooth adaptor. But keep in mind the less you put on the less to break/frustrate you.
I would not add a blind, try to hunt out of the boat or if needed drape burlap/brush over in and sit in the bottom.
Yeah I typically hunt outside of the boat whenever possible but when my dad goes with me I try to hunt on the boat and it will probably not get a lot of use but I want to have one just for rare occasions.

Made a little bit of progress over last few days. Got the nav lights installed (waiting for other aux. lighting and switch panel before I start wiring) got seat mounted on the front deck, installed latches on the hatches along with some weather stripping, also secured battery box in the boat along with brand new battery, and installed some new trailer lights. Hoping to get the motor reinstalled, get some more auxiliary lighting (courtesy lighting, lights inside the hatches, etc), waiting on the stereo but meanwhile, the gentleman I purchased the boat from said the wheel bearings were recently done, but I’d rather be safe than sorry on that sort of thing.

Yessir. That is getting it done. I hope you have all the luck fishing out of that rig that you deserve...
