Killed a GROWN cotton mouth in the swamp today. Went squirrel hunting with a fella and his world competition winning dog, and she was nice enough to point out a big snake. Land owner said kill it, so he dead.

Not a good day for squirrels with the wind and all, but got 4 miles of exercise.

Anytime walking in the woods is a good time. Snakes or no snakes

It must have been a bad scenting day for the dogs. We only got 3 rabbits but killed a bobcat in front of the hounds running it just like a rabbit. It stayed right in front of the dogs just tipping. First time I've ever seen that.

We only got 2 squirrels. I took a crack shot at a running fox with my .22, but missed (I think). That wind didn't do anyone any favors.

This evening would the the time to kill squirrels with a dog. They always move the last 1 1/2 before dark.

Last Saturday morning I almost stepped on 36" or so banded water snake on our way out of a beaver pond outside Whitmire. It was moving real slow but made my heart skip a beat.
