    Default A400 plus vs sbe2

I know this topic is worse than beating a dead horse with a stick but does anyone have any good reviews.? I had an a400 and liked it but just seeing how the new one handles.Im pretty tough on my guns and would like reliability to cycle in really harsh conditions so I'm also tossing around the idea of going to a sbe2.

It is personal preference. You ask 10 people and get split 5 and 5. Personally, I owned both. I am rough on a gun as well and I will never own another benelli after I got my a400. I got tired of hearing “click” when I pulled the trigger on my sbe2 because I broke the seal by hitting the action walking through the woods. Those 2 beads also screw with my aiming, but then again I grew up on and 870 so the two beads were foreign to me. I know this, the action on the a400 is much tighter so if you plan on beating it around in the backseat and pulling it out and firing, go with the beretta.

All this. Nothing else needs to be said.

Well, there is the added benefit of not being labeled as a heybo redneck if you shoot a Benelli.

Just go ahead and get 1. Then you'll have both. Can't go wrong having both and then you can decide for yourself.

I am going to buy a new shotgun between now and Turkey season. I have been looking at both and
I am leaning toward the A400 after holding them both plenty of times. Both are fine guns and it boils down
    to what you like.

I have an sbe and it's awesome. Never experienced the click, but know it's only a matter of time. Beretta 20g auto will be next, after a 686 or a vintage side by side in 20.

Beretta is my vote. I grabbed a buddies Benelli this year to swat a cripple, I thought he had 3-1/2” shells loaded it kicked so damn hard. He only had 3”.....

I proceeded to keep shooting my 391 without getting the shit kicked out of me.

If beretta would slim their grip and raise their rib it would be a better gun. As they are now it's like trying to squeeze your right cheek down on a 2x4

Bass Pro in Myrtle Beach has a Beretta A400 in black on the clearance rack for $1,199. It was there yesterday.

This is why I quit shooting Beretta. I think Beretta is the better gun but I hate the feel of them.

So if they made it more like a Benelli it would be better

    Shut it

I agree Sportin. As for autos the 391 Urikas have been my favorite of the Berettas for that reason. The older extremas that came out with those pads I couldn't stand either, they were bulky and chintzy. I'm not a huge fan of the A400s, but I know guys who love them. I hope to wait until they come out with something designed to my style before I buy a new one, but hopefully I won't have to.

I own neither of the guns so feel free to take this with a grain of salt but, after the season I had with my versamax (it going click on mallards 3 different mornings) Im in the market for a new work horse shotgun. Ive held both guns on multiple occasions and shot them both on multiple occasions and for me the sbe ii feels the best against my shoulder, and that may be different for you because its your preference. If I were you I would be patient go out and hold a sbe a few times and try to shoot one. Ive also shot a Vinci and honestly loved the balance and the way it shouldered and I would have already bought it but I know the sbe ii is a more proven platform

I have the A400 extreme and just recently got a deal on a SBE3 that I couldnt pass up. Both are great guns but I much prefer the feel of the SBE3. Time will tell if it's as reliable, haven't had a single issue in the 300-400 rounds ive put through it so far.
