There’s pretty good evidence out there that supports it’s nearly impossible to kill off coyote populations. Look at what they did when a bounty was put on them during the early part of the 20th century. Wolves were all but eradicated during that same bounty.
I think using what happened to Buffalo is a poor example for many reasons. Buffalo were easier to kill is large numbers, have much longer gestational periods, and typically produce fewer offspring when they give birth.
