Default Deer season, good, bad and ugly

Arrowed a good buck in October.

Then shot low at 300yd on this rag horn, panicked a little but followed up to finish well. The bad.

Knuck put his new bergara to use and killed his first ever sitting alone.

Then he followed up with another great solo sit. Busted the tip of beam off on the death run but gonna have it repaired at the taxi.

big mule head, first for the .280.

Then botched a bow shot on an 8pt on Christmas eve morning. Low 6" behind the leg, liver in, paunch out on a slight quartering too shot. 4 hours blood trailing 250 yards with Knuck doing half of the finding tiny drops till it ran out. Found him the next week 25-30 yards from where we gave out. The ugly.

Saw 260+ from the stand this year. Don't know what was different about it, hunted the same seat of the pants style, no plots, no bait.

Excellent. I see we shoot the same release, those Fletcher releases are underrated.

    Thanks.

Yessir, fletchers have worked for me for a good while now but still have to deal with a loose nut behind the trigger at times.

    good stuff.

its nice to see appreciation for all the things we encounter in a given year....even the bad stuff.

and I HATE losing a deer once on blood. HATE IT
