    Default Food Plot Lime

Looking for the most cost effective way to spread lime on food plots ranging from roads to 1 acre. The soil sample says I need 1-1.5 ton/acre. Years ago I had a spreader truck put it out and most was flung into the woods. We've been putting out bagged pelletized and it's expensive, slow, etc. I know moisture is an issue with bulk lime and can (will) have bridging problems in a 3 point hitch rotary spreader. Been there done that.

Is there a drop type spreader that will work or do you really need a walking floor type to get it done?

    What options are there?

    Thanks

Find you an EZ Flow drop spreader or some dry bulk for the spin spreader.

I use Solu-Cal. Spreader truck can't get to where I need. One 50 lb bag equals 4-50 lb bags of pelletized. More expensive but I'm lazy and it is easier than hauling four times the bags and it works in my tractor spreader.

Same stuff as Lowe's sells, just branded differently: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Sta-Green-3...-Soil/50189499

the easiest way is still the spreader truck, and embrace that they can spread it in the woods a little and you are still OK.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

Same here. I got a moultrie spreader for the back of the 4 wheeler that has held up surprisingly well. You can do a lot of good in a short amount of time this way.
