Default Annual Family Trip to MD

A great friend of the family opens his farm to my family for the weekend.

Reports showed the geese in less than stellar numbers but the canvasbacks were in the area for the last 2 weeks. The geese didn’t cooperate but the cans made up for it.

First day was 4 cans and a bonus goose, the following morning brought us 8 cans (picked up 7) and another bonus goose. My cousin and I were the only ones in the point blind that first afternoon and it was one of those hunts we will always remember.

A few birds had been set aside for a trip to the taxidermist.

Other than being disappointed in not being able to go with Daddy this trip he is doing fine. He did have his first prolonged side-effect of nausea this past week after getting the infusion. We aren’t sure if it was the IV or the pills he takes 1x per week. We’ll figure out that tomorrow after he gets it tonight.

We are in the short rows for his treatment. We were just told (never asked about finishing his treatment because we were focused on one day at a time) he is scheduled to receive his last chemo on 8/24/19. That’s 4 months earlier than we expected. It also just happens to be 6 days before his 8th birthday. What a great present!!!
