Default Covington 2 row planter question

I have a nice 2 row planter that has planted MANY acres of sweet corn over the years.

2017 I planted some RR corn with it, and noticed the spacing was spotty. Like it wasnt dropping the seed everytime like it should.

I used the regular sweet corn plates, and I noticed the RR corn has more of a circular shape than the regular sweet corn seed.

Is there a better plate to run for RR corn or is there a specific plate to run on RR corn?

    Thanks in advance fellas

There are tons and tons of different plate sizes. You need to match up the plate to the size corn seed you are planting for maximum efficiency, spacing, and population you are looking for.

See this link...there are 47 different plates for the John Deere style planter.

Sounds like you need a plate for round seeds vs. flat seeds.

Should be seed size /flat or round / plate recommendation on the tag of your corn seed.
