Default Shutdown- Vandals cutting down Joshua Trees

    From ABC News

    https://twitter.com/ABCPolitics/stat...85729508995072

People are melting all over the place about this story. "How could humans be any more evil?" They have just been waiting for a chance to go in and cut down these trees." "The planet needs to kill all humans."

    Thoughts?

Thoughts? Send snipers out to take out anyone who’s found to be doing it. Coyotes need to eat, too.

I read somewhere that those trees are made up of a bunch of fibers, or tubes, so they don't have the annual growth rings used for aging most trees. It was reported some of these trees are hundreds of years old. I don't know how true that is.

Marines are out there right now cleaning heads and policing the property. Trail rider groups are roaming the property looking for lost and broken down/stuck vehicles. The local meth head desert trailer rats are trashing the place.

    The tragedy of the commons...

Are we talking about blow downs or...?

Wasn't picking up what JAB's original intent of the post was, but tree's fall and people are shit heads no matter what. Park rangers don't stop that.

If anyone was wondering, this national park experiences tree loss, illegal camping and vandalism no matter if it is fully staffed or not. Photos provided at the top of the post are a file photo and of a tipped over tree taken by a park ranger. No sign of malicious intent in either one.

Hopefully we aren't being persuaded by sensationalized/fake news. National park staff are notoriously scummy when it comes to these sorts of things.

Rest assured, good citizens are picking up where any federal employees have left off. Not sure any joshua tree is worth the cost, but at least this park the size of Connecticut has been in good hands of private citizens.

Why would a vandal bring a ladder so he could cut down a tree 8 feet off the ground and coincidentally right at a rotten spot on the trunk?

    Sometimes, trees fall over

    It's still Trump's fault.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is,
as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

My fault for looking at this on my small phone and only seeing the second picture. It was hard to see if it was cut or blown over, etc.
