Florence County Sheriff's Race
I am interested to hear y'alls thoughts on the upcoming sheriff's election in Florence County.
Full disclosure: I went to school and grew up with both of the candidates. Kenny Boone and I graduated together, Thomas (TJ) Joye was two years older, but there were only 195 kids in 7-12 so to say we had met would be an understatement. We all played football together from the time we were in 7th grade and were pretty good friends.
Since graduation I have only seen either in passing, and haven't kept up with careers. I have seen on social media some of the recent events with the sheriffs office and I know TJ was a FloCo deputy after high school and then went on to move up in the HP.
I haven't lived in Florence county since 1992 so I have no dog in the fight other than two old friends squaring off. Since most everyone I know in Florence County is like me and know both candidates, I just thought I would ask those who don't know either.
What are the early thoughts and predictions on this one?
