Tips for saving the trans or for pulling it? Pulling it is pretty straight forward, like most any other auto trans. Just drain beforehand, even if you gotta drop the pan then bolt it back up.

3,4 went out and had a bad grinding noise in reverse and first

got the driveshafts off tonight along witht the y pipe and crossmember. the y pipe was a pain in the ass to take off but i guess thats what they make half inch impacts for

anybody know a secret to getting the torque converter bolts off. pulled the starter and the opservation plate but cant loosen the bolts they are really really tight

Hit them with some spray and let them soak. Then hit them with an impact.
What are you going to do when you get the tranny out? I had a GM remsn go out 2 months out of warranty. Pretty sure I am not going to get another one of those. Not sure if I want to get it rebuilt or roll the dice with a take out.
let bolts soak then went back at it. cant fit an impact in there. rounded one of the allen heads out. then took an air chisel to loosen the next one up it came out great then i tried the air chisel on the next one and went too hard on it and cant fit the allen in there now so tommorow its time to buy some cheap wrenches and weld them to the remaining bolts worst case senario i mess up a 60 dollar flex plate. i plan on getting somone to rebuild the tranny with 4l65e parts
