Go on the bourbon tour in Kentucky. I did it last week and it was amazing. Buffalo Trace and Markers Mark was the best tours.

I did the Trail a few years back. Really enjoyed the Four Roses distillery tour; really explained all the inputs from differing mash bills to location in rickhouse. They told everybody to dip a finger in several mash tubs and taste the differences from the beginning.

I get out there once or twice a year. Heading back in February. Do yourselves a favor and check out Castle and Key which is the original EH Taylor Distillery. They're doing what the folks in the video up top said was pretty much impossible.

I watched a neat documentary about the owner(s) of Caslte & Key and found it extremely interesting. I would really like to check that ace out one day.

I'm in on a barrel of Rye there with some friends and we get a private tasting experience once a year as it progresses. When I was there a few months back, Will spent a good bit of time hanging out with us. Nothing like making a bunch of money in one profession to have the freedom to pursue a dream project. There's nothing else quite like what's happening there in all of bourbon world right now. Since it's finally open to the public, it should be at the top of everyone's list as far as distillery visits go.

It's a silly market. That's just how I feel, I find it unsustainable. Only time will tell though.

Time will sort out the crafts, hopefully quicker than the taxed "moonshines".

I didn't watch the vid. Plus, I'm not trying to be an ass.

It's not the flavored whiskey market though.. And I'm all for anyone following their dreams.

Couldn't agree more with you HS. With Castle and Key, you have another Trace going up, though. That's the only exception imho.

Bourbon is life. And I love it so much (especially this time of year) that it will make me pull a fold out metal chair amongst a gathering and say “hi, my name is......”

Since you brought it up, what do you think about ratings?

USMC said he watched a documentary about the owners of Castle and Key. Will is one of the owners. I was having a drink with Julian Van Winkle one time and he asked me if I knew the Toofdork.

They're mostly preposterous. I say mostly, because I'm not arrogant enough to say I've heard of all of them.
