Default A Season to remember and it's not over yet....

Finally Sept 16 Gavin connected on his first deer. He put the .222 50grain bullet where it needed to be and she didn't make it far. Oh the Joy and Happiness in his voice and I was on cloud 9. From there the little Knuckle head has been going anytime he could and for 6 years old he's doing a great job. After getting a few does under his belt I told him it was time for a Buck. I had one coming like clock work and the next Saturday morning Gavin had a basket 8pt in the scope only to Shoot and miss. He said Daddy I was trying for a neck shot SMH. Since then he has watched a lot of does and yearlings and finally got him a Cowhorn. Anyhow here's a few pictures so far this year. With less than a week left he's hard at it.IMG_5746.JPGIMG_5461.JPGSnapseed.jpgIMG_5597.JPG

Great work. He’s going to be tough to handle when the season ends. Congrats to both of you!

When deer season ends, you need to put a scoped .22 in his hands and go squirrel hunting. It's all the same skill set as deer hunting with more stalking and more chances to shoot but smaller targets. That's what I am going to do.

No matter how many you kill, how big they are, or where they're at......You'll never kill the first one again.

    Great memories....Congrats to the kiddo..!!
