    Default '89 Dodge W-250 Cummins Re-build

    20181226_160343.jpg

Holidays gave me time to finish a pet project I've been working on...Restoring this truck I've had since I bought
    it new.

1989 Dodge W-250 4wd w/ 12 valve B-series Cummins...727 auto...NP 205 transfer...Dana 60's...Locking rear...Lockout front hubs...Galvanized body...Stainless Steel exhaust...800# of tractor weights hung under rear for balance...6" lift custom made in my shop...Custom pitman arm and drag link fabbed in my shop for full steering swing with no rub...Skyjacker extended shocks...Stripped and painted with period correct color GSI coating to M-1008 specs...+ a bunch of other little stuff.

Wound up taking until deer hunting season was almost over, but it'll be in the shed ready for next yr........

Cool. Need to bury you and the truck in a pit, give you a beer and watch you drive out of it.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Galvanized body? Wonder how that’s done without masssive warping of the sheet metal? Chassis Galvy too?

Love the paint job. Memories of old Army stuff in woodland camo.

That rig has background music. Chuck Norris said this is his daily driver. Badass.

That is sharp. I need to do the same with my K10. I've already got a pile of parts for it.

Those 12 valves were beast. Everyone likes the 24v and lots of conversions for the 24v but that 12v was solid. Cast iron block with 6 bolts per cyl holding the head down. That’s 24 head bolts. You could produce up to 100 psi of boost on that engine with no fear of stretching head bolts or having to stud the block/head.

    Cool build.

Any chance there’s a build thread for this project in the future?

My guess it is actually galvannealed steel.
