They out smarted us this afternoon. Ran the dogs for just a couple of hours. Found one covey that ran into the thickest briar patch I have seen in a while. Dogs would point, then relocate, then relocate again and again. We did this for 30 minutes before we moved on. At one point, I was standing on top of briars so thick I was still 3 feet above the ground. A pack of angry beagles would have been more useful.
No quail were harmed in this exercise. Dogs and humans were not so lucky.
