We gave this buck the name "crazy rack", and it won't take you long to see why. This buck has been around a small tract I hunt for the past 2 years. Here in the last week he was like clock work in the back corner of a big hay field. Saturday afternoon he appeared at 5:12 and grazed until dark with 6 other deer at about 225yards. My son begged me to let him shoot, but I told him we would be closer the following day. I got us a new blind setup mid day and we climbed back in the blind around 4:15. Again, at 5:12 I see him coming through the woods. He entered the field alone and grazed at about 100 yards facing us straight on. When he finally turned, buck fever had kicked in and he was a nervous wreck. He couldn't get it together to shoot. Eventually the buck got wind of something and trotted towards the woods and I got him to stop as he reached the treeline. Only his shoulder forward was visible at about 125 yards and he said he thought he could kill him. I told him to shoot when he was ready. The next thing I knew, he had squeezed it off and "crazy rack" piled up in his tracks. The excitement in the blind was 2nd to none. We all but tore the blind down getting out and he sprinted all the way to him. I hope I get to witness him kill many more.
